My English teaching experience
My name is Clark and I'm from Toronto, Canada. I have been teaching English in Taiwan for 4 years. I have taught in a wide range of different situations, and have had fun every step of the way. To me, English is a puzzle, and I enjoy showing students how the pieces fit together.
Teaching English at Compass
Compass offers a truly unique learning environment. The small class sizes gives students more chances to participate, and also allows for more personal attention from teachers. Another unique feature of Compass is that we teach lifestyle English; we want our students to be able to apply their skills in real life situations. Other schools focus on taking tests, which isn't always the best way to learn English.
Learning tips to ESL learners
At the risk of sounding like a cliché, my best tip is to simply practice what you have learned. Take a look at your handouts and notes when you get home, and try to teach someone else one thing that you learned that day. You can kill two birds with one stone this way; cement your knowledge of English and impress your friend or loved one!
